THE WORLD’S TALLEST INFLATABLE TUBE PERSON

In December 2024, Melbourne’s skyline gained an unusual new landmark when Amberman - the world’s tallest inflatable tube man - took over the Golden Square Rooftop.

Towering at 50 metres high, Amberman came to life whenever renewable energy supplied more than half of the electricity grid. Each time he inflated and began to dance, it signalled the best moment for Australians to run their appliances or charge their electric vehicles, saving money while supporting greener energy use.

The activation transformed the rooftop into a stage that blended energy, awareness, and spectacle. Passersby stopped to watch, phones pointed skyward, as Amberman waved across the city skyline.

For a week, Golden Square became the place where sustainability met showmanship. And with Amberman leading the way, Melbourne discovered that energy education could be as bold and joyful as a giant dancing figure in the sky.
